Grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani issued a message of condolence on the demise of Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq Rouhani, the text of which is as follows:
In the name of God
It was with great sadness that I received the news about the demise of the late Ayatollah Haj Seyed Sadiq Rouhani.
In the field of Islamic jurisprudence, the late Ayatollah was a prominent jurist and left a course of argumentative jurisprudence called "Fiqh al-Sadiq" which is a reference for researchers; he was also quite successful in writing and teaching throughout his life. And regarding the fight against the tyrant Regime, he has a huge contribution and spent a long time in exile.
I, for one, have expressed my condolences on the loss of the deceased Ayatollah to His Holiness Saheb Al-Zaman (PBUH) and the great Shia sources of emulations and seminaries, as well as to the gamily of Grand Ayatollah Rouhani and all the survivors, and I pray for the noble scholar’s highest position in hereafter and God's mercy.
